Faith is like a little seed, if planted it will grow.... Sometimes.

I have been trying to help little benson learn how to pray on his own. He knows how, he just doesn't want to do it. So, I decided I had to get creative. I helped the kids plant a seed of faith. (It was a green bean seed.) Then we put it by the window and used scripture reading for sunshine and saying our prayers for water. Benson and Eden both loved it. They were excited about prayers and scripture study. Benson even would say some of the words on his own. But day after day our wonderful little faith plant just flat out didn't grow. I kept hoping some little green stem would sprout but nope. Two weeks later nothing had grown and there and nothing to show for all of my kids faith. Sometimes faith needs some help so I decided to help our little experiment. Brent and I went on a date and stopped by Home Depot on the way home.  I potted two little plants and I smiled at my handy work. I thought how excited they'd be to see that their faith plant had grown. Then I felt a little bit guilty. I can't build their faith on a silly lie... So I wrote a poem. And it worked! It was awesome they were so excited even though they knew Brent and I helped.

This morning when Brent reminded me that it was fast and testimony Sunday Eden spoke up and said that she'd like to share her testimony. After the bishop said his remarks to open up testimony meeting I leaned over to Eden and asked if she still wanted to go up. She said yes. She held my hand as we walked up. When it was her turn she stood up on the stool with her voice toward the microphone. She clearly stated, "I hurt my lip... Then she talked about how she had a faith plant. She closed by saying that Jesus Christ answers her and Bensons prayers. Then she said her lip had gotten better. "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen".
