motherhood

My intro to Motherhood was like a bucket of ice water being poured over my head. It was what I wanted to be all my life and I honestly didn't expect it to be so hard.  I think the Lord knew that I had a lot of confidence going into it being the 2nd oldest of 7 kids and he wanted me to grow more as an individual (and maybe needed to humble me a bit).
Now that I am pregnant again I am going to learn from my past experience and grow even more as a mom and I can't wait.  I will pray and ask for Gods help more... I remember praying a lot for her but not for me. "Please help her to burp, poop, sleep, be soothed... etc". This time around I am going to pray more for the Lord to strengthen me too. "Please help me to sleep, be calm, be soothed... etc."
There is so much joy in Motherhood. Eden is the most fun little mini person EVER.  She is so aware, kind, fun and at moments SO sassy! She has changed me and helped me be closer to God than anyone else I have ever encountered.  I think that's why the bonds of a mother and a child are so unbreakable....we seal those bonds with our unconditional love and service... it is the most Christlike thing I will ever do and it is my privilege and opportunity.

Today I am so grateful for my mothers... One is mine from birth and the other is mine from marriage... they were both meant to be mine and I cherish, adore, and admire them beyond belief.
